About SACR

SACR originally formed in 2008 was birthed from a desire to see positive changes in therapy outcomes for persons diagnosed with mental illness and developmental disabilities within the state of Louisiana.

Our core services are based in Recreation Therapy, as we believe persons diagnosed with chronic illnesses that affect their ability to cope benefit immensely from a comprehensive plan of services that include an assessment of their overall quality of life.

SACR currently serves individuals and facilities in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Kansas. SACR is a Small Business Enterprise and Woman Owner Business Enterprise.

The National Council for Certification of Therapeutic Recreation (NCTRC) is the premier credentialing/licensing organization for the profession of Therapeutic Recreation.  Established in 1981, NCTRC is a non-profit internaional organization that supports quality human service and healthcare standards recognized by the Joint Commission (TJC) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

The Therapeutic Recreation Directory contains resources for recreation therapists, therapeutic recreation specialists, creative arts therapists, activity therapist, activity directors and other disciplines.
